A Day at DLF Promenade Mall in Vasant Kunj, New Delhi
With the Sun smiling brightly, stepping out in Delhi’s summer heat for a casual afternoon of lunch, window shopping or even business networking can be exceedingly sweaty and messy, to say the least. Thankfully, there are plenty of malls like the DLF Promenade Mall where you can escape the intolerable heat as you spend a relaxing day – shopping for the biggest brands, getting a bite to eat or simply hanging out with friends and family.
So if you’re in South Delhi, looking for a place to stop and shop, Promenade Mall is a great pick.

Mall Review – The Promenade Mall, New Delhi
Though I’ve been to most malls in Delhi, for me this mall stands out for several reasons –
GETTING AROUND IS EASY
The Promenade spans across three floors and despite its perceived largeness, finding your way around is surprisingly easy.
I say ‘surprisingly’ because I’ve been to other malls in Delhi and somehow they all seem like a complex puzzle, tiring me out even before I’ve had a chance to look around.
CONVENIENCE GALORE
The movie theatre at the mall (PVR ICON) is conveniently located right next to the Food Court on the second floor. You can easily catch a bite to eat and still make it in time for your movie.
When you exit the movie hall, you’re once again led to the food court. Hungry?
PARKING SPACE
The Promenade offers plenty of parking space and you can easily find a parking spot on weekdays. During the weekends, you may have to drive down to Basement 2 but finding a place to park won’t be difficult.

FUN AND GAMES FOR KIDS
If you are here with your kids and they are getting cranky with all the walking and shopping, you might want to take them to the outdoor Kids Play Area ‘Kiddyland‘ on the Ground Floor when the sun is not overhead.
You’ll find plenty of unconventional swings as well as a Balls Pool Area here to keep them busy and suitably satisfied.
Another great place to hangout is ‘The Hub’ that connects the Promenade Mall to the neighbouring DLF Emporio Mall. There’s plenty of seating space available and you can also opt to take a nice relaxing stroll in the evening as the dancing fountains come alive.
Other attractions include a kids’ Toy Train, and the city’s largest LED screen where you can catch up on the latest Cricket Match scores.
Have you been to ‘The Hub’? How was your experience?
LARGE FOOD CHOICES
The Food Court at Promenade Mall is pleasant, compact yet spacious with plenty of choices for the discerning foodie. If you’re in a large group, you may consider eating here as there’s something available for every palate (South Indian, Chinese, Fast Food, Mughlai & Continental).
A special mention goes out to Keventers’ Shakes and King’s Kulfi, when you’re in need to cool-off on a hot summer day 🙂
RESTAURANTS
There is no dearth of restaurants at the Promenade. Take your pick from Big Chill, Johnny Rockets, Nando’s, TGI Friday’s, Smoke House Deli, Cafe Delhi Heights, Kainoosh, Mamagoto, L’Opera, Chaayos, and many more.
I find most restaurants in Delhi quite noisy. At the Promenade, The Big Chill is especially noisy. Whenever I’m there, I realise Delhiites simply ‘loveeee’ to talk loudly and be heard! 😛 It would be so much nicer if I could hear some good music in the background while I enjoy their great food!
So if you’re at the Promenade for a lunch meeting, I’d suggest heading over to Starbucks which is relatively quieter.
SHOPPING IS FUN
There’s nothing really you can’t find at the Promenade. From Indian designer wear, western casuals and kids wear to footwear, handbags, lifestyle and luxury brands, you will be spoiled for choices.
Some of the brands available here include
Adidas, Aldo, Biba, Celio, Chanel, Charles & Keith, Chemistry, Fab India, Forest Essentials, FoodHall, Forever 21, Harley Davidson, Lancome, Looks Salon, Louis Philippe, Pure Home & Living, Mango, Marks & Spencer, Meena Bazaar, Mothercare, Nike, Promod, Raymond Made to Measure, Reebok, Satya Paul, Steve Madden, Swarovski, Van Heusen, Woods, Zara and more.
